This Chocolate Apple Croissant Bread Pudding is both comforting and elevated. Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 2 EverCrisp® apples, chopped
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp salt
Croissant Custard
- 6 croissants
- 2 Chocolove Salted Caramel in Dark Chocolate bars
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease 8 ramekins.
- Chop the apples into small pieces.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter, then add apples, brown sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the apples soften and the sugar forms a syrup. Set aside to cool.
- In a medium bowl whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Slice the croissants into 1 inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
- Pour the custard mixture over the croissants and let them soak for 30 minutes.
- Chop the chocolate bars into small pieces.
- Add the apples and chocolate to the croissant mixture and gently fold until combined.
- Divide the mixture evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling each to the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until set and golden.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!
